Job Introduction
An exciting new opportunity for a Field Servicing Engineer has become available for an experienced engineer to join our busy UK Forks engineering team.
This is a site‑based role that ensures preventative and routine maintenance is regularly carried out on UK Forks plant machinery.
Planned servicing increases reliability and life span of components, resulting in fewer breakdowns for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out site service and inspection on all UK Forks products and attachments to manufacturers’ standards.
- Perform basic machinery repairs on site that are health and safety critical.
- Work to UK Forks and manufacturer specifications to ensure products are maintained to the highest standard.
- Manage time to maximise productivity and complete planned work assigned by the service desk within allocated hours.
- Maintain stock levels weekly to ensure all required parts are available for planned maintenance.
- Follow instructions and fit parts for planned servicing and maintenance.
- Be flexible and willing to work additional hours when working out of area.
- Travel for training or field support roles, including overnight stays, as required.
- Report to the service desk and area controller daily, completing PDA/Tablet data with photos.
- Manage waste by removing all waste from customer sites and disposing it at the UK Forks depot in the correct locations.
- Carry out any other duties considered within your skill and competence to assist the smooth running of the business when required by management.
- What We’re Looking For
- Basic mechanical and electrical engineering skills related to all UK Forks products.
- Experience maintaining and servicing all UK Forks products and attachments.
- Ability to carry out vehicle checks to identify possible failures or hazards.
- Strong stock and parts management skills.
- Valid driving licence.
- Proficient use of PDA/Tablet.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to work on own initiative.
- Capacity to learn new skills and information quickly.
- Flexible attitude towards working additional hours when required.
- Willingness to travel for training or field support, including overnight stays.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet commitments.
- A team‑oriented approach with the ability to remain calm under pressure and respond positively to challenges.
