Do you have experience of working in the Tool and Equipment Hire/Rental sector?

Join MEP Hire, part of the industry-leading Vp plc Group, specialising in Mechanical, Electrical and Low level Access products and play a key role in expanding our reach and revenue, as well as building strong, long-term client partnerships.

You’ll be at the heart of exciting projects within the construction and rental sectors, working with major subcontractors and national accounts to deliver real value.

As an Account Manager, you'll be the face of MEP Hire in your region—Covering the Greater Manchester geographical territory and delivering sustainable revenue growth across our innovative range of products and services.

Living on patch within the Manchester area this is a hands-on, relationship-driven role with plenty of scope to make your mark.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive growth and Hire Revenue while maintaining profitability within our pricing and discount framework
  • Strengthen relationships with existing customers at both head office and site level to unlock new opportunities and deeper partnership
  • Identify and win new customers, with a focus on subcontractors working on major construction projects
  • Increase awareness of MEP Hire and the wider Vp Group as trusted, expert partners in the industry
  • Build strong local relationships that support the strategic objectives of our National Account partnership
  • Use our CRM platform to keep customer data accurate, plan activity, and manage your pipeline effectively
  • Operate on a 20-day cycle to ensure smart, efficient journey planning that maximizes customer engagement
  • Gain technical knowledge of our equipment and stay current on key regulations so you can offer informed, value-led solutions
  • Use your understanding of our products’ features and benefits to highlight what sets MEP Hire apart in the market
  • What We’re Looking For
  • We’re after a proactive, ambitious Account Manager who thrives on hitting goals and building strong, trust-based customer relationships.
  • A solid sales track record with experience in construction, M&E, equipment hire, or a related field
  • A natural networker, confident engaging with decision-makers at all levels
  • Experience targeting new prospects and unlocking small, mid-scale and major subcontractor spend on small and large projects
  • Comfortable working independently, with strong time management and planning skills
  • CRM-savvy, with a keen eye for keeping data clean, relevant and useful for all
  • Experience of developing relationships at project level
  • Naturally product orientated with an ability to demonstrate as and when required
  • Highly motivated with strong commercial skills
  • Action-orientated and can ‘make things happen’
  • Excellent presentation skills, influencing techniques, overcoming objections, communication skills all necessary at a developed level
  • Living on-patch in the Manchester region
  • Valid driving licence and comfortable travelling around the region
