We are seeking a motivated and technically minded individual to join our workshop team as a Trainee Survey Equipment Technician.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an interest in technology, engineering and practical problem solving who is looking to develop a long‑term career within a specialist technical field.

As a Trainee Survey Equipment Technician, you will play a crucial role in our workshop operations, focusing on the maintenance, repair, and calibration of survey equipment.

This is an entry‑level position that offers an opportunity for growth and development.

As well as having access to Manufacturer training, you will work closely with our experienced technicians to learn about the various survey equipment types, troubleshooting techniques, and quality control procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist workshop technicians with the inspection, servicing, calibration and repair of survey equipment, including Total Stations, GNSS receivers, Construction Lasers, Laser Scanners and associated accessories.
  • Learn to diagnose mechanical, electronic and software related faults, carrying out repairs and adjustments under the guidance of experienced technicians.
  • Test and verify equipment performance to ensure accuracy, reliability and readiness for hire, sale or customer return.
  • Maintain accurate service records using in‑house software.
  • Support colleagues in resolving technical queries and customer enquiries.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment in accordance with company procedures.
  • Participate in internal and manufacturer training programmes to develop technical knowledge and practical skills.
