This is a fantastic opportunity to join us at Groundforce Shorco as a Regional Manager for our Major Projects division. We are the UK's leading supplier of excavation support equipment with over 40 years of experience assisting the construction industry across the UK, Ireland and Europe. Our success has been driven through innovative product development combined with the latest technical design and digital engineering processes. The Major Projects team handle our market leading high end hydraulic propping solutions, having access to the largest stock of Major Projects equipment in the UK.

Reporting into the Commercial Manager, you will identify, target and connect with key decision makers and influencers involved in relevant Major Projects within your region. As part of a targeted technical consultative sales approach, you will also track projects through the relevant stages to ensure successful delivery of business and strive to achieve the revenue targets set by the business, contributing to the overall success of the UK Major Projects business. Please note, the successful candidate will be based no more than an hour outside of London.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that the Major Projects Revenue Target for the Region is achieved, quarterly and annually.
  • Maintain an accurate up to date database of key contacts within relevant businesses (e.g. Consulting Engineers, Temp Works Co-ordinators, Major Contractors) to target and identify new opportunities for Major Projects work.
  • Plan and hold regular face to face meetings and group presentations with key contacts and target audience groups.
  • Generate sufficient face to face appointments to identify a sufficient number of project opportunities, to achieve set KPIs for generating the number of new Design Requests submitted for design to the technical team.
  • Oversee the quotation process to ensure customer expectations are met, via communication with the Major Projects Hire Desk team.
  • Present compelling proposals to customers demonstrating Groundforce capability to ensure best chance of winning business.
  • Develop and manage a pipeline of projects (demonstrating profitable revenue) which is clearly visible to senior management within the Shoring business.
  • Produce monthly report.
  • Track projects from identification through to completion, involving the wider Major Projects team as necessary such as Technical Team, Hire Desk, Operations (install team).
  • Deliver sufficient number of projects and revenue from projects, to achieve the targets set by the business within the Region.
  • Engage regularly with the wider Groundforce Shoring team to ensure good relationships are maintained and identified opportunities are communicated at an early stage.
What We're Looking For
  • Temporary works design and sales experience.
  • Be able to clearly demonstrate a track record of success in technical sales and business development.
  • Be able to clearly demonstrate strong commercial acumen, with the ability to negotiate positive outcomes for the business.
  • Experience working with civil engineering contractors and equipment/solution specifiers.
  • Hire industry experience (preferred).
  • Engineering degree - Civil, structural or mechanical (preferred).
  • Business qualification (preferred).
