About the Role This is an exciting opportunity for an On-Site Technician to join our growing ESS business and look after our equipment around the South of England. This role is perfect for someone looking for some variety in their work where each day will be very different as you attend locations around a predefined area and work on a wide range of our products that require electronic or mechanical repair works.
Candidates must be within reasonable commuting distance of our Rainham (London), Heathrow or Southampton branches.
Key Responsibilities
- Working as an On-Site Technician, you will maintain, service and repair equipment whilst at our customers’ sites.
- Ensure our customers have equipment that has as little down time as possible.
- As the face of ESS, you will understand the importance of service level agreements.
- Deal with any queries in a timely and professional manner
- Be available and respond to duties, which may fall outside your normal working hours (e.g., call out and stand by)
- Ensure that customer equipment is serviced and repaired to a high standard, in accordance with manufacturer guidelines, both on and off site
- Ensure the correct and safe use of all tools supplied by the company
- Participate in stock checks as and when required
- Ensure all service reports are completed within 48hrs of completion of job, including reporting on spares used.
- To Ensure as Far as Is Reasonably Practicable, Health & Safety for you and those around you
- When it is considered necessary or appropriate by management you may be required to carry out any duties considered within your skill and competence to assist the smooth running of the business.
What we’re looking for
- An electronic, mechanical or engineering background is required
- Knowledge of survey / safety industry desirable but not essential
- Experience of communicating with customers on a face-to-face basis
- Valid driving licence essential
- Manufacturer training desirable but not essential – ESS will provide where required
- Confident in communicating difficult messages to people of all levels, both customers and stakeholders
- Happy to work alone and be responsible for personal health and safety
