As an Engineering Technician at Groundforce, this is an excellent opportunity to join a market leader with a 60-year legacy. This role is open to both experienced Engineering Technicians and individuals at the start of their career, including A-level or equivalent applicants with a strong interest in engineering and construction.
You’ll play a key role in supporting engineering teams by producing high-quality technical drawings and documentation that enhance project delivery across a range of specialist construction solutions. Depending on experience, responsibilities will range from learning and supporting day-to-day operations to contributing to long-term innovation. Proficiency in Autodesk software, experience in construction-related drawings, and the ability to manage workload independently are key for senior candidates, while full training and development will be provided for entry-level applicants.
Please note, we will consider both entry level/A-Level or senior/experienced applicants.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with engineering teams to prepare high-quality images, drawings, and documentation that support and enhance departmental output
- Support the development and maintenance of systems and processes that ensure consistency and quality
- Undertake project-specific tasks as required, appropriate to experience and capability
- Contribute to performance improvement by setting and responding to objectives and initiatives
- Suggest and implement ideas for improvement across workflows and outputs
- Actively participate in team meetings, discussions, and activities
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Understand and uphold your role in ensuring health and safety standards
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- For senior technicians, provide guidance and mentoring to junior team members
- For experienced / senior applicants:
- Proficient in Autodesk software, particularly AutoCAD and Revit
- Experienced in producing construction and product-related technical drawings
- Minimum of 2 years’ relevant industry experience
- BTEC/HNC qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline
- Confident in mentoring junior technicians and providing technical guidance
- Able to manage workload and time effectively with minimal supervision
- Knowledgeable about relevant legal and regulatory requirements
- A-levels (or equivalent), ideally including Maths, Engineering, Design Technology, or related subject
- A strong interest in engineering, construction, or technical design
- Willingness to learn Autodesk software such as AutoCAD and Revit (training provided)
- Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
- Strong communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude
