As a Lifting Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and availability of our lifting equipment. This includes inspecting, repairing, and maintaining equipment to manufacturer specifications and high industry standards.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Brandon Hire Station as we expand our lifting and material handling product range. With additional locations being launched and significant investments in assets and infrastructure, you’ll be part of a growing, forward-thinking organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Test, visually inspect, and repair equipment, ensuring all items are safe and operational.
- Ensure thorough examinations of hire fleet items are completed by a Lifting Examiner.
- Maintain the presentation of equipment by replacing worn or damaged stickers and cleaning serviced items.
- Ensure equipment due for hire has up-to-date thorough examination documentation.
- Record repair data, including time allocation and spares used.
- Ensure individual fleeted items are clearly identifiable.
- Participate in stock takes as required.
- Adhere to health and safety standards, ensuring branch operations comply with H&S legislation.
- Load and secure equipment correctly and avoid leaving equipment in public areas.
- Support the ongoing maintenance of equipment to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Engage in on-the-job training to continuously develop skills.
- Perform additional duties within your skillset as required to ensure the smooth running of the business.
What We’re Looking For
- Relevant mechanical or electrical qualifications (advantageous).
- LEEA (or similar) qualifications (preferred).
- Experience working with lifting hire fleet equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with lifting equipment manufacturer training (e.g., Genie, Mace, Hackett, Tractel, CMCO) is desirable.
- Someone with a proactive mindset, strong communication skills, and a commitment to health and safety.
- Valid driving licence.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing on-the-job training.
