We’re looking for a Senior Engineer with proven experience in structural and geotechnical design to lead complex engineering projects across a range of sectors. This is a hands‑on technical and leadership role involving the management of design delivery, mentoring of junior engineers, and ensuring outputs meet relevant industry standards.

You’ll work across challenging schemes—often Category 2 and 3 in complexity—while applying best practice, current legislation, and advanced engineering tools. The role involves designing bespoke solutions, overseeing design compliance, and contributing to the development of continuous improvements in engineering delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver high-quality design solutions for complex (Cat3) and moderately complex (Cat2) engineering schemes.
  • Manage day-to-day engineering workload and support coordination across project teams.
  • Design bespoke structural and geotechnical products or components.
  • Ensure all designs comply with current regulations and industry best practices.
  • Supervise, support, and mentor Graduate and Design Engineers.
  • Working closely with the other technical teams to assist with the workload as required.
  • Apply and maintain safe working practices in line with CDM and health and safety requirements.
  • Produce clear and accurate technical documentation and records.
  • Take a proactive role in project planning, progress tracking, and resource management.
  • Contribute to technical decision-making and improvements to design processes.
  • Engage in specific project work as needed, ensuring timely and quality delivery.

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree in civil and/or structural engineering or equivalent (BEng, MEng, BSc, MSc).
  • Minimum of 3 years' relevant post-graduate engineering experience.
  • Strong understanding of CDM Regulations and health and safety in engineering environments.
  • Proven ability to design and check structural and geotechnical schemes to a high standard.
  • Confident managing workload independently and supervising others effectively.
  • Strong documentation and record‑keeping skills.
  • Comfortable working without supervision and taking initiative on technical matters.
  • Ability to share knowledge and contribute to the development of others.
  • Commercial awareness, including appreciation of cost, buildability, and programme constraints.
  • Experienced user of Autodesk AutoCAD, MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.); good knowledge of Revit is desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence.
