Make a difference through social value, community engagement and colleague participation.Reporting to the Senior HR Business Partner, you’ll play an important role in delivering Vp plc’s Social Strategy across the Group. This is an opportunity to help turn our commitment to social value into meaningful activity that benefits our colleagues, customers and the communities in which we operate.You’ll coordinate a range of programmes covering volunteering, community investment, employability, wellbeing and community engagement, working with colleagues and external partners to increase participation and maximise the positive impact of our activities.You’ll also help us demonstrate the difference we’re making by gathering and reporting social value outcomes, developing engaging case studies and supporting ESG reporting, customer requirements and tender submissions.Please note, this is a 12-month fixed term contract opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the delivery of Vp’s Group Social Strategy, taking ownership of agreed projects, activities and deliverables
  • Manage and develop our Volunteering Programme and Employer Supported Funding scheme, supporting colleagues and monitoring participation and impact
  • Build strong relationships with charities, community organisations, schools, colleges and other external partners, identifying opportunities to increase our social impact
  • Develop and coordinate new social value, wellbeing, employability and community initiatives, identifying opportunities to improve and expand our programmes
  • Coordinate initiatives supporting social mobility, employability and community engagement, working with schools, colleges, charities, strategic partners and disadvantaged groups
  • Plan and deliver wellbeing campaigns and awareness initiatives, helping increase colleague engagement and participation
  • Coordinate the Social Strategy Steering Group, including meetings, actions, progress updates and follow-up
  • Maintain social value action plans, evidence libraries, project records and reporting systems, ensuring information is accurate and up to date
  • Collect and analyse data on social value, volunteering, employability, wellbeing and community impact, turning this into useful management information and insights
  • Create engaging case studies, presentations, reports and communications that showcase the impact of our work
  • Develop and promote social value content across the Group intranet and internal communication channels
  • Support the preparation of customer social value questionnaires, tender submissions and ESG reporting, ensuring the right evidence and information is available
  • Provide guidance to colleagues on volunteering, community engagement, wellbeing and social value, helping to increase participation across the Group
  • Support new social value projects, partnerships and customer commitments, taking ownership of agreed deliverables, timescales and outcomes

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is organised, proactive and passionate about making a positive difference. You’ll be comfortable bringing people together, managing projects and turning ideas into practical initiatives.

You’ll have:

  • Strong organisation and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear reports, engaging communications and compelling case studies
  • Experience coordinating projects, programmes or initiatives involving multiple stakeholders
  • The ability to build positive relationships with colleagues, community partners and external organisations
  • A proactive approach to researching opportunities, identifying improvements and taking initiatives through to delivery
  • Experience collecting, analysing and presenting data to produce reports, management information and performance measures
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • The confidence to work independently, use your initiative and take ownership, while knowing when to seek guidance
  • A customer-focused approach, including the ability to support tender responses, customer enquiries and social value commitments
  • Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams

It would be great if you also have experience in:

  • Social Value, ESG, CSR, Sustainability or Community Engagement
  • Volunteering, employability, wellbeing or social mobility programmes
  • Working with charities, community organisations, schools, colleges or external partners
  • Tender submissions, customer social value commitments or ESG reporting
  • Social value measurement, impact reporting or recognised social value frameworks
  • Creating content for intranets or internal communication channels
