An excellent opportunity has come up for you to join our busy depot as a Driver/Technician. In this role, your main day to day duties will revolve around the receipt, preparation, testing and despatching of our equipment. You will also be on hand to deliver, demonstrate, and collect specialist equipment to and from customers, suppliers, and other businesses within the Vp Group as and when required. You'll ensure all activities are carried out safely, professionally, and on time, helping maintain our strong reputation for customer service. This hands-on role combines equipment maintenance, driving, and customer interaction to ensure smooth and reliable service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver, demonstrate, and collect equipment safely and professionally
  • Liaise with sales and depot teams to meet customer requirements
  • Maintain and service all equipment to minimum quality standards
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any defects
  • Keep the depot organised, clean, and secure
  • Complete all start and finish of hire documentation accurately and on time
  • Identify potential new customers or sites and alert your line manager
  • Load and transport equipment safely in compliance with legislation
  • Follow all company health and safety procedures and report any concerns
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties to support depot operations

What We're Looking For

  • Valid UK driving licence
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills
  • Educated to a reasonable standard
  • Knowledge of the local area
  • Ability to maintain and check equipment effectively
  • Experience in or awareness of the tool or hire industry (desirable)
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to complete paperwork accurately and follow procedures
  • Commitment to safe working practices and company policies
