Group Financial Controller

Vp plc are excited to announce a unique opportunity within our Group Finance Operation. Due to natural progression, we are now looking for our next Group Financial Controller. This key strategic role will report to the Group Finance Director and will take responsibility for all aspects of Group Finance including internal and external reporting, tax, treasury, transactional finance, and other ad hoc work as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure that all statutory accounts/external reporting are prepared accurately, in accordance with the reporting standards.
• Manage external audit and ensure all issues are resolved in a timely “no surprises” basis.
• Ensure all Group management accounts are produced accurately and on time.
• Implement a programme of continuous improvement in management reporting whilst maintaining quality.
• Support the Group Head of Transactional Finance in areas such as credit control, collections, and accounts payable processes.
• Ensure that the Group complies with worldwide tax obligations and its own stated tax policy.
• Ensure that tax returns are produced accurately and on time.
• Manage the Group’s exposure to all treasury-related matters including day-to-day banking, facilities, interest rate exposure, and foreign exchange.
• Design and operate effective financial processes and controls to ensure regulatory compliance and appropriate risk mitigation.
• Ensure consistent behaviours and processes across all finance teams and associated activities regardless of location or business area.
• Ensure the Group Finance function operates as a high-performing team.
• Ensure individuals are trained and developed effectively across the function.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience of leading a multi-site finance function.
• Demonstrable experience of working within a plc environment.
• Strong stakeholder management, working closely with executives, auditors, and external parties.
• Group reporting, international accounting, and tax experience.
• Senior leadership experience.
• Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Strong understanding of financial controls, risk management, and compliance.
• Ability to present complex financial information in a simplified manner.
• Effective and experienced communicator at all levels.
