We have an exciting opportunity for a Class 2 LGV Driver to join our existing team and provide full support to the depot in the safe delivery and collection of all Vp Groundforce products. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and collect equipment to/from customers, suppliers and other Vp businesses professionally, safely and on time in line with level of competency, ensuring company policies and processes are followed.
- Ensure Driver regulations are consistently adhered to under the Driver and Vehicle Standard Agency (DVSA).
- Conduct a thorough daily defect inspection on the vehicle and record this before any use.
- Clean and maintain the vehicle on a weekly basis.
- Ensure accurate tachograph records are maintained to include driving periods, rest periods, other duties, etc. and are readily available for inspection.
- Ensure equipment is loaded correctly, safely and securely restrained.
- Greet Customers with a friendly face and helpful attitude ensuring identification of our equipment and advising of loss or damage, taking confirmation photos where applicable.
- Proactively assist with query resolution by taking photos of the load prior to unloading and after loading at our depots, customer sites and suppliers.
- Requirement for sleeping out on an infrequent basis while delivering or collecting equipment from Groundforce depots, customer sites and suppliers.
- When it is considered necessary or appropriate by management you may be required to carry out any other duties considered within your skill and competence to assist the smooth running of the business.
What We're Looking For
- Class 2 license/C category License (Minimum) - Essential.
- Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC) - Essential.
- Digital tachograph card - Essential.
- Flatbed experience (training provided) - Advantageous.
- Valid full clean driving licence - Advantageous.
- Customer Centric approach.
- Willingness to do the occasional night out.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills - Essential.
- Knowledge of the local area.
