Starting Salary - £31,850 (realistic OTE: £38,000)
After Probation (26 weeks) - £32,640 (realistic OTE: £39,000)
After 2 Years - £34,680 (realistic OTE: £41,000)

About the Role

As a Driver's Mate for TPA, you will work closely with the driver as part of a two‑man team, delivering, installing and collecting portable roadways in a variety of settings across the UK. As part of the role, we provide full training and a clear pathway to becoming a Class 1 Driver on our state‑of‑the‑art vehicles. This is an excellent opportunity for a hard‑working and committed individual to start a well‑rewarded career with us. With a clear and defined development plan, the opportunity for career and financial progression is wholly achievable. All you need is a full UK Driving Licence to apply for this role. We are not looking for temporary workers; full‑time permanent commitment is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Must enjoy being on the road and working outside in all weathers
  • Use the lorry loader crane to install and recover our unique range of temporary roadway products
  • Provide our customers with appropriate familiarisation of equipment
  • Carry out weekly vehicle, trailer & crane cleaning procedure
  • Map read and plan routes in discussion with the Driver
  • Ensure that paperwork is accurately completed
  • Identify and record all damaged stock correctly with the driver
  • Carry out a weekly vehicle stock‑check
  • Ensure health & safety for you and others in the working area

In addition to the above

  • Must be comfortable spending time away from home, Monday to Friday
  • Weekend overtime available

  • No experience or qualifications are required other than a full UK Driving Licence, as we provide all necessary training

TPA works on many sensitive sites in the defence, nuclear and civil service sectors and operates a rigorous drugs and alcohol testing policy. Applicants will also be DBS checked.
