A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Cloud Engineer to join our Technology Infrastructure team. You will be instrumental in the design, implementation, and management of cloud infrastructure within Amazon Web Services (AWS), working closely with infrastructure, security, and application development teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure solutions. A key focus of the role is supporting the migration of existing on-premise Windows Server workloads and associated enterprise applications into AWS. You’ll contribute to cloud architecture decisions, embed best practice operations (automation, monitoring, governance), and ensure environments are robust, secure, well documented, and cost optimised. This position offers broad exposure to modern cloud technologies and the chance to help drive our cloud adoption strategy while collaborating with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to meet operational and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the assessment, planning, and execution of migrations for on-prem Windows Server workloads into AWS.
  • Provide expert-level support and troubleshooting for network, server, and cloud infrastructure issues.
  • Embed security by design and contribute to governance using Organisations/Control Tower, guardrails, and tagging standards.
  • Gain an in-depth knowledge of the organisation’s key systems to provide third line support for problems arising on these systems and undertake fault rectification.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting; perform capacity, FinOps cost optimisation, performance tuning, and right sizing.
  • Produce clear architecture documentation, runbooks, diagrams, and standards; contribute to knowledge sharing and mentoring.
  • Be responsible for the escalation and management of calls with 3rd party FM/support contracts.
  • Project manage and complete projects such as technical rollouts, new branch openings, and acquisition tasks.
