This is an exciting time to join Brandon Hire Station as we embark on a strategic growth model within our lifting and material handling product range. Reporting into the Branch Manager, the Lifting Technician’s role is to carry out repairs to own and occasionally customers’ lifting equipment according to manufacturer’s specifications, to a high standard and ensure that spares are requested in order to facilitate the speedy repair of equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Test, visually inspect and repair equipment, ensuring items made available are safe and fully operational.
  • Ensure thorough examination for an item in the hire fleet is completed by a Lifting Examiner.
  • Presentation of equipment - Replacement of worn/damaged stickers. Clean all serviced/repaired equipment.
  • Ensure thorough examination is not overdue on equipment being made available for hire.
  • Record repair data e.g. time allocation and spares used.
  • Ensure individual fleeted items can be easily identified.
  • Assist in stock takes as required.
  • To ensure as far as is reasonably practicable, personal health & safety.
  • Ensure branch/depot is operating within H&S legislation.
  • Ensure equipment is loaded correctly.
  • Ensure equipment is not left in public areas.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained to fall within H&S legislation standards.
  • When it is considered necessary or appropriate by management you may be required to carry out any duties considered within your skill and competence to assist the smooth running of the business.
What We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience in the range of equipment in the lifting hire fleet.
  • LEEA (or similar) qualifications - preferable.
  • Lifting equipment training (i.e. Genie, Mace, Hackett, tractel, cmco) – preferable.
  • Relevant mechanical or electrical qualification (advantageous).
  • Additional training will be provided.
  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy.
  • Valid driving licence.
