The Bid Writer will lead the preparation, production and submission of winning proposals. In this role, the Bid Writer will produce professionally written proposal content that clearly articulates the organisation\’s value proposition. This is a networked role that requires an ability to work under pressure and to demanding deadlines. The Bid Writer will work with cross-functional proposal team members to help respond to Expression of Interests (EOIs), Request for Information (RFIs), and Request for Proposals (RFPs), and manage the proposal development process to ensure on-time delivery of compelling, compliant, and well-written proposals.

Key Responsibilities

The position involves researching, writing, and producing a high volume of client-facing documentation on behalf of our company in support of an array of our services. This role will successfully communicate and collaborate with a variety of internal stakeholders including, the wider BD community, operational teams, procurement, marketing, Information Management, human resource management and HSEQ/Compliance (and other subject matter experts) as needed. As such, this is a highly visible role, requiring excellent communication skills.

Alongside leading the written element of bid proposals, the Bid Writer will also be responsible for managing the in-house Bid Content Library. The candidate will need to ensure that all content remains compliant and up-to-date. During periods where proposal writing is not required, Bid Writer will be responsible for producing new content for the library including for example, but not limited to responses, case studies, job descriptions and CVs. This requires skills in information capture, accuracy and an ability to produce and complete new and / or updated content that is of an excellent standard. You will have pride and passion in all that you produce.

What We’re Looking For

  • The Bid Writer will not only be a brilliant writer, but they will have creative flair and an ability to differentiate proposals in a complex and diverse marketplace
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working as part of a proposals team
  • A high attention to detail with an excellent editing and proofing ability
  • Excellent literacy skills, with an extensive vocabulary
  • A natural completer-finisher, you will be deadline driven, results focussed with effective project and time management skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise workload
  • Willing to work with the wider business to drive good practice and precision into operational and support services
  • Demonstrated experience in computer applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), E-mail, Internet and databases.
  • Understanding of the operational, commercial and knowledge of tools in the hire industry – Desirable
