Female Support Worker Halifax & Manchester
Β£15 per hour + holiday pay + pension
23 days per week | Flexible hours to be confirmed
We have an exciting opportunity to join our VP team as a Female Support Worker, supporting a young woman in her early 20s who is four years post-traumatic head injury.
Our client is physically able and highly motivated, but benefits from support with managing fatigue, planning activities, attending appointments and working towards her rehabilitation goals. She enjoys being active and loves getting out into the community particularly going to the gym.
She is looking for someone who is positive, encouraging, proactive and able to suggest activities and provide gentle motivation to help her get started with tasks.
From 12 September, you will initially have the opportunity to support our client during a two-week trip to Manchester, where she will be attending a tattooing course.
Following the Manchester trip, the role will continue primarily in Halifax, supporting her in her home and community.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys helping others, encouraging independence and supporting a young person to make the most of their interests and rehabilitation journey.
What youll be doing
Your role will include:
- Supporting our client to access the community and take part in activities she enjoys.
- Supporting her to plan and structure her day.
- Encouraging meaningful interaction with the world around her.
- Supporting with daily living tasks, including cooking and domestic duties.
- Helping her manage fatigue and balance activities appropriately.
- Supporting attendance at appointments and rehabilitation activities.
