Buckle Up! Voyago is Hiring Casual School Bus Drivers in Woodstock! We are currently seeking spare drivers in Woodstock to support coverage for existing routes and to assist with future route opportunities!

Your role:

  • Safely transport students within your community to and from school, ensuring a reliable and positive experience each day.
  • Prioritize student safety at all times, including during boarding, transit, and exiting the vehicle.
  • Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure the bus remains in proper and safe operating condition.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the bus, including assisting with fueling and basic upkeep to present a well-kept, professional vehicle.
  • Accurately complete daily Hours of Service reports and maintain required documentation in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Immediately report any mechanical issues or concerns affecting the safe operation of the vehicle.
  • Address and report any student behaviour issues in a timely and professional manner, following company procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with safety practices, policies, and regulations.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, patience, and care while fostering a safe and respectful environment for all passengers.

Your profile:

  • You are safety focused.
  • You hold a valid minimum full G class drivers license for at least 1 year (Preference will be given to E or B class drivers).
  • You are 21 years of age or over.
  • You are a safe driver with a clean driving record.
  • You can obtain a clean criminal record search with vulnerable sector screening.
  • You have a sound knowledge of Woodstock and surrounding areas.
  • You have the ability to work independently.
  • You are available for the required shifts: Monday - Friday between 6am - 9:30am and 1pm - 4:30pm (Start and end times will vary depending on the specific details of each route).
  • You possess solid communication skills.
  • You are comfortable driving in all types of weather and road conditions.
  • You are comfortable driving large vehicles.
  • You have minimum technology skills, including the ability to use Google Maps or GPS units.

Route Details:

  • We are currently looking for casual drivers to fill in for sick call ins or when other drivers have scheduled time off. This will be a casual position until a permanent route becomes available in your area.
  • Applicants must be willing to operate all school-purpose vehicles including big yellow buses, mini yellow buses, wheelchair accessible buses, and minivans, or, at minimum, be prepared to drive a mini yellow bus, a wheelchair accessible bus, and a minivan.
  • Casual drivers should be comfortable driving within the city of Woodstock as well as London, Elgin and Middlesex Counties.
  • Casual drivers typically work between 12 and 24 hours a week, depending on the needs of the business each week.

Please note, applicants who are only interested in driving a minivan will not be considered.

Your location:

  • The main yard in London is located at 573 Admiral Court. Drivers in Woodstock and surrounding areas will start and end their routes at a secondary park-out location in Woodstock. Where space permits, drivers may also take the vehicle home and begin their route directly from their driveway!

Hourly Rates:

  • Big Yellow, Mini Yellow, or Wheelchair Accessible Routes – $21.84/hour (Note: We do not have any big yellow routes in Woodstock).
  • Minivan Routes – $20.96/hour.
  • Base Rate (for time spent working but not driving a school route) – $19.76/hour.
