We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated SENDPractitioner to join our Inclusion Team. This is a key role within thedepartment, supporting the SENCO in the effective day-to-day management of SENDprovision and ensuring high-quality support for pupils with additional needs.The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing EHCP processes,coordinating provision, and working closely with pupils, parents, teachers, andexternal professionals.
About the Role
Working closely with the SENCO, you will help ensure that every learnerreceives the right support to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.This is a hands-on, pupil-centred role involving the coordination of EHCPprocesses, management of SEND provision, communication with families, andcollaboration with teachers and external professionals.
Key Responsibilities
· Leadon the coordination and completion of EHCP paperwork, consultations, and AnnualReviews.
· Maintainaccurate provision maps and support the monitoring of SEND interventions andtheir impact.
· Overseethe Assess–Plan–Do–Review (APDR) cycle for allocated pupils and ensure timelyfollow-up actions.
· Playa leading role in transition processes, including Year 6–7 and mid-yearadmissions.
· Actas a key point of contact for parents and carers, building strong andsupportive relationships.
· Provideadvice and guidance to teaching staff on effective SEND strategies andclassroom practice.
· Supportthe planning, delivery, and evaluation of targeted interventions for pupils.
· Workdirectly with pupils to support their academic progress and emotionalwell-being.
· Collaboratewith external professionals, primary schools, and internal teams to ensurecoordinated support.
· Assistthe SENCO with day-to-day running of the SEND department and contribute towhole-school SEND initiatives.
The ideal candidate will be able to manage complexprocesses such as EHCPs and Annual Reviews, while also building positiverelationships and offering practical support to colleagues. You will beproactive, adaptable, and committed to ensuring every pupil receives the rightsupport to succeed.
Weare looking for someone who has:
· Asolid understanding of SEND Code of Practice and statutory responsibilities.
· Experiencesupporting pupils with a range of additional needs.
· Excellentorganisational skills and attention to detail, especially in managing paperworkand deadlines.
· Strongcommunication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust withfamilies and staff.
· Acollaborative approach and willingness to work as part of a busy inclusionteam.
· Acommitment to inclusive practice and improving outcomes for young people.
