GeneralRoles and Responsibilities
Against abackground of increasing complexity of special and pastoral needs, EMATreviewed the traditional classroom based support staff to better meet the needsof our students. This led to the creation of the Inclusion Support Practitionerrole, designed to enhance teaching and learning by:
- Supporting consistently highexpectations and standards in every classroom
- Enthusing, engaging, andmotivating students to achieve their best
- Building trust and confidence inboth students and colleagues
In thisrole, you will be trained to be able to work more proactively andindependently, providing targeted support to a range of students both with andwithout specific needs, adapting learning, and leading small group orone-to-one interventions. The position offers clear professional progression,with training and support to empower staff to make a real difference in studentprogress and development.
In addition,Inclusion Support Practitioners will collaborate closely with teachers,internally contracted specialists like educational psychologists, speech andlanguage professionals, family liaison teams, and through our uniquepartnership with the NHS have access to Education Mental Health Support Teams,and external services such as local authority teams, ensuring a joined-upapproach to each child’s learning, wellbeing, and personal development.
