We're looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our friendly and dedicated team in Tilehurst, Reading. This residential service supports adults with a range of complex needs, and we're seeking someone who is committed to making a positive difference every day.
As a Senior Support Worker, you'll play a key role in supporting people to live fulfilling and independent lives, while also assisting the Service Manager with the day-to-day running of the service. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and supporting the staff team during shifts
- Assisting with rota planning and shift allocation
- Supporting the induction and development of new team members
- Conducting supervisions and providing guidance to colleagues
- Managing and ordering medication
- Supporting service users with financial management where required
- Promoting person-centred care and positive outcomes
- Providing hands-on support and leading by example
We're looking for someone with both the right experience and values.
Essential requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Senior Support Worker
- Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Experience supporting individuals with complex needs, including:
- Behaviours of distress
- Mental health conditions
- Autism
- Acquired brain injury (ABI)
- Trauma-informed support
- Forensic backgrounds
