We’re on the hunt for genuinely caring, hands-on Support Workers with a passion for enhancing the quality of life of the people we support. As a support worker with us you’ll be helping people to gain more independence in their daily lives, whilst working within a dynamic team to support a fantastic group of people. Our residential service in Newcastle upon Tyne is a welcoming and friendly environment and you can be sure that no two days will be the same.

You’ll be enhancing the lives of the people we support by teaching them new life skills, assisting with personal care, encouraging them to access their local communities, socialising and doing lots of activities. One day you could be out with the people we support in local bars and pubs, the next you could be unwinding with them playing video games, watching films or going to the cinema. This is an amazing role for someone who is looking to really make a difference to someone’s life and to help them grow in confidence and independence so that they meet their goals, whether this be making dinner by themselves or going on holiday.

Responsibilities

We look for Support Workers who help people gain more independence and participate in daily activities within a supportive team. Activities may include teaching life skills, assisting with personal care, encouraging community access, socialising and accompanying people to outings such as local bars, pubs, cinemas or home activities like video games and films. The role supports individuals to grow in confidence and independence, with goals such as preparing meals or planning holidays.

Qualifications

We are interested in our Support Workers having both the right experience and the right values. This service requires a full UK driving license, resilience, flexibility and a composed approach. Experience with following Positive Behaviour Support plans and reflective practice is preferred, as well as experience working with individuals requiring enhanced support, including behaviours of distress, mental health conditions, autism, forensic histories and people who have experienced trauma.
