We're on the hunt for genuinely caring, hands-on support workers to enhance the quality of life of the people we support. As a support worker with us you’ll help people gain more independence in their daily lives while working within a dynamic team to support a fantastic group of people. Our supported living service in Folkestone is welcoming and friendly, and no two days will be the same. You’ll enhance the lives of the people we support by teaching them new life skills, assisting with minimal personal care, promoting independence, socialising, and doing activities. You may travel with them to local bars and pubs, play video games, watch films or go to the cinema. This is an amazing role for someone looking to use their passion to make a real difference to someone’s life and help them grow in confidence and independence, whether that’s making dinner by themselves or going on holiday. Responsibilities
- Help people gain independence in daily living.
- Teach new life skills.
- Assist with minimal personal care and promote autonomy.
- Socialise and organise activities such as outings, video games, film screenings and cinema visits.
- Follow Positive Behaviour Support plans and practice reflective learning.
- Support individuals with behaviours of distress, mental health conditions, autism, forensic histories and trauma.
- Work as part of a dynamic team in a supported living environment.
Qualifications
- Full UK driving licence.
- Experience with Positive Behaviour Support plans and reflective practice.
- Experience supporting people who require enhanced support, including behaviours of distress, mental health needs, autism, forensic histories and trauma.
- Resilience, flexibility and a composed approach to work.
- Subject to satisfactory DBS checks and references.
- Willingness to work varied shifts – weekdays, weekends and sleep-ins.
