MANUAL is a leading preventive healthcare platform, transforming how people manage weight, hormones, and long-term wellbeing. We’re now looking for a Director of Data & Analytics to lead a high-performing team of 10+, elevate the use of data across the company, and embed data-driven thinking into every function. You’ll partner with stakeholders across Product, Growth, Clinical, Operations and more, helping drive smarter decisions through better data. This is a strategic leadership role requiring someone hands-on, technically sharp, and commercially aware of the details while guiding the broader vision.
What You'll Do
- Lead and grow the team: Manage and mentor a team of analysts, scientists and engineers. Set goals, coach individual growth, and create a collaborative, high-performance culture.
- Define and drive data strategy: Build the data roadmap across infrastructure, analytics and adoption. Champion self-serve data access and drive data literacy across the business.
- Enable cross-functional impact: Work closely with leadership and teams across Product, Marketing, Operations, Growth, and Clinical to embed data into their strategy and execution.
- Uphold technical excellence: Develop frameworks for experimentation, cohort analysis, forecasting, and performance measurement. Instil best practices in analytics and metrics tracking.
- Improve infrastructure: Oversee key tools (BigQuery, dbt, Looker), ensure data pipelines and models are reliable, and work with Engineering to strengthen data quality and governance.
- Remain hands-on when needed and excel at problem solving: Be comfortable rolling up your sleeves, writing SQL, exploring a dataset, or validating an analysis. Lead by example in solving problems.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years in analytics or data science, including 5+ years of people management
- Strong technical background including advanced SQL and a degree in a quantitative subject
- Proven experience with modern data tools: BigQuery, dbt, Looker or similar
- Excellent communicator and stakeholder manager — able to partner with the C-suite and influence strategy
- Experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate data into business action
- Passion for improving healthcare outcomes through technology and insight
