Head of Clinical

Full-Time On-site
V

Morelife is a national provider of evidence-based, psychologically informed weight management and stop smoking support, delivered face to face and digitally across the UK and beyond. As our Head of Clinical, you will own clinical leadership, performance and quality across every contract we deliver, and you will be our most senior regulatory voice as the Nominated Individual for the CQC. Reporting to the COO and sitting on the Senior Leadership Team, you will shape the direction of our clinical model, lead and develop a high-performing clinical team, and make sure the people we support receive safe, effective and compassionate care. This is a senior, hands-on role for a credible clinical leader who wants real influence over outcomes, regulatory standards and the future of our digital offer.

What you'll do:

  • Set the strategic direction for all clinical services, ensuring our clinical model is ambitious, evidence-based and aligned with organisational goals
  • Build and lead a high-performing clinical team, recruiting, training and mentoring staff to a consistently high standard of practice
  • Hold overall accountability for clinical outcomes and KPI achievement across all contracts, working with the Head of Operations to drive improvement wherever performance falls short
  • Act as the CQC Nominated Individual and Clinical Safety Officer, partnering with the Registered Manager and the Voy Compliance team to keep us inspection-ready and compliant
  • Set and maintain clinical protocols, own the auditing of clinical outcomes, and oversee safeguarding, incident reporting and clinical risk management
  • Take direct ownership of complex clinical cases, providing hands-on guidance and decisions where clinical staff need escalation support
  • Lead clinical input into the Morelife app and the digital adaptation of our behaviour change curriculum, and direct research and evaluation that is published and presented
  • Sit on the Senior Leadership Team as the senior clinical voice, supporting business development with clinical data, case studies and tender input, and representing Morelife with ICBs, local authorities and NHS trusts

Who you are

  • You have 5+ years of experience in clinical leadership in a senior role, including managing clinical teams and developing evidence-based clinical programmes
  • You hold a relevant clinical qualification in obesity medicine, nutrition, psychology or a related field, with substantial experience in weight management or behaviour change services
  • You have hands-on experience of CQC management, including regulatory compliance, inspection readiness, clinical governance, safeguarding and incident reporting, and are eligible for and willing to hold CQC Nominated Individual status
  • You are confident analysing clinical, operational and patient outcome data to inform decisions and improve quality, and comfortable using Microsoft Office, CRM systems and electronic health records
  • You are a strategic thinker who can align clinical services, protocols and improvement plans with organisational goals
  • You are a strong communicator who can explain complex clinical information clearly to patients, staff, commissioners and senior stakeholders
  • You stay calm, effective and solutions-focused when managing complex cases, clinical risks or service pressures
  • You are committed to patient-centred care, continuous learning and research-informed practice, and you share our values of caring, accountability and expertise
