We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an on-site Plumber at HMP Long Lartin.
Working hours: 39 hours per week (across 7 days where a weekend shift pattern applies). You will be required to work 1 in 3 weekends on a rota basis, with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary.
This role supports His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) by maintaining safe, clean, and efficient prison facilities. The Plumber plays a vital role in ensuring both planned and reactive maintenance is carried out safely, compliantly, and on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure Health & Safety standards are met across the contract.
- Complete statutory works on schedule, ensuring full compliance.
- Perform routine and non-routine maintenance, including fault finding and repairs.
- Repair mains water supply and replace life-expired equipment.
- Inspect water systems, take samples, and assess risks to maintain system integrity.
- Monitor the BMS system to ensure optimal performance.
- Support zero carbon initiatives and contribute to sustainability goals.
- Carry out additional tasks as directed, including working at height and in various weather conditions.
What You Will Bring
- Appropriate trade qualification – NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing and Heating.
- Experience in operating light plant.
- Desirable: Legionella Control (L8) certification and experience in a commercial environment.
