Weights and Measures Inspector 6 month ongoing contract Full Time Hrs 37.5 – 3 days a week on-site. £45 an hour umbrella Responsibilities To be responsible to the Metrology Partnership Manager for the efficient and cost effective running of the North East London Metrology Partnership. Have a sound working knowledge of relevant legislation and appeal cases enabling the post holder to advise businesses, consumers and other Council Departments/organisations. To carry out investigations and resulting interviews in accordance with legislative requirements and office procedures with the aim of detecting and preventing crime. Liaise and consult with other Council services and Central Government Departments on matters relating to the Trading Standards Service. Co-ordinate the enforcement of specialist legislation as allocated in procedures. Liaise/consult with Government departments, local police and other organisations on matters appertaining to the work of the Service. Requirements To be a qualified weights and measures inspector with recent (within the last 2-3 years) experience of undertaking weights and measures inspections both retail and non-retail environments.
