Location: West London

Contract: 3-month ongoing contract

Rate: £40 per hour (umbrella)

Working Pattern: Hybrid – office attendance once per month

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Social Care Solicitor to join a local authority legal services team in West London on an initial 3-month ongoing contract. This role will provide specialist legal support across Children’s and Adults’ Social Care, working on complex and sensitive matters within a supportive hybrid working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert legal advice on Children’s and Adults’ Social Care matters
  • Manage and progress a complex caseload, ensuring compliance with statutory timescales
  • Represent the Council in court proceedings and hearings as required
  • Advise senior officers, managers, and elected members on social care legal issues
  • Supervise and support junior legal staff where required
  • Work collaboratively with internal departments, external partners, and the judiciary
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and governance requirements
Key Requirements
  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEX entitled to practise in England & Wales
  • Significant experience within Social Care law (Children and/or Adults)
  • Experience working within a local authority or public sector legal service
  • Strong advocacy, advisory, and case management skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
