We are currently recruiting for an experienced Social Care Solicitor to join a local authority legal services team in West London on an initial 3-month ongoing contract. This role will provide specialist legal support across Children’s and Adults’ Social Care, working on complex and sensitive matters within a supportive hybrid working environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert legal advice on Children’s and Adults’ Social Care matters
- Manage and progress a complex caseload, ensuring compliance with statutory timescales
- Represent the Council in court proceedings and hearings as required
- Advise senior officers, managers, and elected members on social care legal issues
- Supervise and support junior legal staff where required
- Work collaboratively with internal departments, external partners, and the judiciary
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and governance requirements
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEX entitled to practise in England & Wales
- Significant experience within Social Care law (Children and/or Adults)
- Experience working within a local authority or public sector legal service
- Strong advocacy, advisory, and case management skills
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
- Hybrid working model
- Office attendance required once per month
- Flexible working supported
