We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Corporate Surveyor to join a busy Local Authority in North West London on an interim basis.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in managing a diverse corporate property portfolio, providing expert valuation and estate management advice, and supporting the delivery of the Council's Asset Management Strategy.
You will lead on complex property matters, oversee external consultants, and help maximise the value and performance of the Council's assets.
The role includes responsibility for corporate estate management, statutory valuations, asset rationalisation and managing external valuation consultants.
Key Responsibilities Deliver professional property valuations, including Right to Buy, acquisitions, disposals and insurance valuations.
Provide expert advice on landlord and tenant matters, including rent reviews, lease renewals and community asset transfers.
Manage and review the work of external valuation consultants to ensure quality, accuracy and value for money.
Support the delivery of the Council's Asset Management Strategy and estate rationalisation programme.
Identify opportunities to optimise the corporate estate and improve space utilisation.
Carry out site inspections and provide recommendations on property condition and future asset requirements.
Prepare reports and technical advice for senior management, Members and Cabinet.
Manage complex property casework and ensure compliance with RICS standards and statutory requirements.
Mentor junior members of the Estates team where required.
About You MRICS (or equivalent professional membership) is essential.
Degree qualified in Real Estate, Surveying or a related built environment discipline.
Significant experience managing a corporate property portfolio within a Local Authority.
Extensive experience undertaking RICS Red Book valuations, including Right to Buy valuations.
Strong knowledge of landlord and tenant matters, estate management and asset optimisation.
Experience commissioning and managing external property consultants.
Excellent stakeholder management, report writing and communication skills.
Ability to provide strategic property advice to senior leaders and elected Members.
