Are you a confident and skilled trades professional looking to deliver high-quality repairs and make a real difference to customers? We are looking for a Multi-Skilled Operative to join our Commercial Services team, providing a reliable, efficient, and customer-focused repairs service.
About the Role
As a Multi-Skilled Operative, you will carry out a wide range of repairs and maintenance tasks across Abri homes and communal areas. Your work will include carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and other multiskilled trade duties—always completed to a high, compliant standard. You will deliver excellent customer service, ensuring jobs are completed safely, professionally, and often first time. You will also use mobile technology to record your work, manage van stock, and order materials through our approved suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and general maintenance to a multiskilled standard.
- Work to building regulations, best practice, and Abri policies at all times.
- Deliver high-quality, customer-focused repairs and communicate effectively with residents and colleagues.
- Ensure safe working practices, including proper use of PPE, tools, vehicles, and equipment.
- Use mobile devices to record jobs, materials, and timesheets accurately.
- Maintain van stock, vehicles, and tools to required standards.
- Participate in the out-of-hours emergency rota when required.
- Support other trades and undertake training to broaden skills as needed.
About You
- Experienced in carpentry, plumbing, and/or masonry, with confidence in non-core trades.
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Maintenance Operations or equivalent, or time-served experience.
- Demonstrable experience delivering repairs across domestic and communal properties.
- Full clean driving licence.
- Able to undertake physically demanding tasks.
- A strong team player who demonstrates Abri's values and a commitment to excellent service.
