About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Housing Solutions Officer to join a busy Housing Register Team within a Local Authority in West London. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced housing professional to manage Housing Register applications, provide high-quality housing advice, and ensure statutory duties are met in accordance with housing legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess Housing Register applications under Part VI of the Housing Act.
- Make statutory decisions in line with the Council's Housing Allocation Scheme.
- Provide accurate housing advice to applicants by telephone, email and face-to-face.
- Manage Housing Register casework, ensuring applications are processed efficiently and accurately.
- Respond to customer enquiries and shared inbox correspondence.
- Support statutory reviews and assist with complex housing cases.
- Prepare case files and supporting documentation for reviews and legal matters.
- Liaise with internal departments, solicitors and external agencies where required.
- Maintain accurate records using housing management systems.
- Deliver excellent customer service while managing a busy and varied caseload.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working within a Housing Solutions or Housing Register Team.
- Previous Local Authority experience is essential.
- Strong knowledge of Part VI of the Housing Act and Housing Register processes.
- Experience assessing Housing Register applications and making statutory decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Experience using housing management systems and Microsoft Office.
