We are currently looking for a highly motivated and performance driven Senior Estates Site Manager to lead our clients multi-site operational teams. We are looking for someone with excellent senior operational knowledge within an Estates environment or similar, and significant experience of working with multiple stakeholders to develop Estates services, maintain high levels of performance and achieve legislative compliance.

The person will be responsible for the operational management of the Trust's multi-site estate, including all building and engineering systems, roadways, footpaths and grounds, ensuring these are maintained to the appropriate NHS and statutory standards to deliver a high quality care environment for the Trust's and Shropcom communities, staff, patients and visitors.

Responsibilities

  • Operational management of the Trust's multi-site estate, including building and engineering systems, roadways, footpaths and grounds.
  • Ensure maintenance to NHS and statutory standards to deliver a high quality care environment for the Trust's and Shropcom communities, staff, patients and visitors.
  • Lead and manage multi-site estates teams, collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety and other regulatory requirements across all sites.
  • Develop and monitor maintenance programs and service delivery against agreed performance indicators.

Qualifications

  • Professional knowledge in an engineering/building services related discipline acquired through degree or equivalent plus specialist technical knowledge (post-graduate level or masters equivalent).
  • Evidence of Health and Safety training (e.g., BOHS P405, IOSH Managing Safely).
  • Specialist training to hold the position of Authorized/Responsible persons under the Department of Health's Technical Memorandum (HTM).
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health Safety or Construction Safety or equivalent (Desirable).

Experience

  • Experience in a similar Estates role, with demonstrable management of senior teams, operational budgets, and multiple construction/refurbishment projects.
  • Experience leading teams and budgets in an Engineering/Operation environment.
  • Experience leading reactive and planned preventative maintenance systems and delivering minor capital projects.
  • Experience managing a significant workforce across electrical, mechanical engineering and trades staff.
  • Providing expert advice at senior level on engineering and construction matters in line with national and local policies and standards.
  • Successful negotiation and contract management; experience completing business cases for Capital investment; planning and delivery of complex maintenance programmes.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Significant knowledge in all engineering-related matters to a subject matter expert level.
  • Good knowledge of industry-standard M&E and building construction contracts and ability to manage contractual relationships with Contractors and Consultants.
  • Detailed knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and requirements of working in a built environment (CDM regulations and IPAC requirements).
  • Specialist technical knowledge including legislation relating to construction, development and property management of Healthcare Buildings.
  • Formal engineering management training; sound financial acumen and strong commercial/contract negotiation skills.
  • Complex problem solving, decision making and analytical skills; good judgement and ability to interpret complex information and advise accordingly.
  • Ability to devise flexible and creative solutions to difficult problems; excellent collaborative working skills across departments and stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritise, schedule and monitor multiple projects, meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality output.
  • Effective oral and written communication, including presenting complex information to directors and clinicians and chairing meetings.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to develop practical estates strategies; capability to plan and undertake R&D initiatives to inform strategic objectives.
  • Evidence of achievement in complex environments, including change management and risk management with quality management systems.
