Job Title: Accommodation Needs Assessment Officer Location: East London Rate: Β£28.88 per hour (Umbrella) Contract: 3β6 month ongoing contract Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday About the Role We are seeking an experienced Accommodation Needs Assessment Officer to join a busy Local Authority Housing team in East London. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out detailed assessments of housing and support needs for homeless applicants and vulnerable households, ensuring compliance with statutory duties and local policies. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough assessments of housing and accommodation needs for applicants under homelessness legislation. Identify and evaluate support requirements, referring or signposting individuals to appropriate services. Provide accurate advice and guidance to applicants on housing options and statutory entitlements. Liaise with internal teams, housing providers, and external agencies to ensure suitable placements and support are in place. Maintain accurate case records and prepare reports in line with statutory requirements and council procedures. Contribute to the prevention of homelessness through effective early intervention and case management.Requirements Strong knowledge of Housing legislation, homelessness duties, and related case law. Experience working within a local authority housing team or similar environment. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing a caseload.
