We're looking for an Employment, Volunteering and Training Skills Specialist to join a new Volunteering, Skills and Employability team in London.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with people and helping them overcome barriers, build confidence and move towards employment, volunteering or further training.

What you'll do

  • Support individuals to identify their strengths, goals and career aspirations.
  • Provide advice and guidance around training, volunteering and employment opportunities.
  • Help people overcome barriers to employment and progression.
  • Build trusted relationships with customers and residents, including those facing challenging circumstances.
  • Develop partnerships with employers, training providers, businesses and community organisations.
  • Create opportunities that improve skills, confidence and employability.
  • Attend workshops, events and community initiatives.
  • Work with local partners to increase participation and engagement.
  • What we’re looking for

You’ll have experience in community engagement, employability, volunteering, employer engagement, skills brokerage or a related area.

You’ll also be

  • A confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable supporting people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Able to handle sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Proactive and confident in building relationships with external partners.
  • Passionate about helping people improve their skills, confidence and prospects.
  • Resilient and self-motivated, with the ability to work with people facing unemployment or other barriers to progression.
