Location: South West London

Contract: 3 months ongoing contract

Rate: £324 per day umbrella

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out detailed inspections of social housing properties and communal areas.
  • Assess the quality, standard, and completion of recently delivered major works.
  • Identify maintenance issues including damp and mould, fire safety, and structural concerns.
  • Recommend future planned maintenance and major works requirements.
  • Work closely with contractors to ensure remedial works are completed to required standards.
  • Monitor workmanship and materials to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Sign off completed works, ensuring quality and contractual standards are met.
  • Provide expert Clerk of Works advice to the Planned Maintenance Team.
  • Maintain accurate inspection reports and documentation.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Clerk of Works, Building Inspector, or Surveyor within housing or construction.
  • Strong knowledge of building construction, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Experience working within social housing or local authority environments.
  • Understanding of fire safety, damp and mould, and building safety regulations.
  • Ability to assess quality of works and enforce standards with contractors.
  • Excellent report writing and record-keeping skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Compliance & Additional Information:

  • Experience working on planned maintenance or major works programmes is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and manage inspections across multiple sites.
  • Knowledge of asset management strategies within housing is beneficial.
