We are seeking a degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer with extensive local authority experience in building services maintenance, contractor management and M&E project delivery across corporate and leisure buildings.
The successful candidate will manage day-to-day mechanical maintenance, provide technical advice on repairs and oversee contractors and staff. You will also take ownership of M&E projects from design and specification through to tendering and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Manage planned and reactive mechanical maintenance.
Instruct and oversee contractors and maintenance staff.
Provide expert engineering advice on mechanical faults, repairs and remedial works.
Manage M&E projects from design and specification through to tendering, delivery and handover.
Monitor project programmes, budgets, quality and contractor performance.
Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and local authority procedures.
Essential Requirements
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
Essential local authority experience.
Extensive building services maintenance and contractor management experience.
Proven experience managing M&E projects from inception to completion.
Experience in mechanical design, specification writing and tendering.
Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive engineer capable of taking ownership of maintenance operations and delivering projects while working collaboratively with contractors and stakeholders.
