Seniors at ASOS are experienced and skilled leadership figures who have a talented eye for all things creative and practical ability for implementation. As one of our Seniors, you will be working closely with the Photography Manager and wider senior teams. You will train, mentor, and inspire the team to deliver the best ecommerce assets in the industry for the ASOS product pages, to appeal directly to the 20 something customer. You will drive department efficiency, whilst thinking commercially and innovatively. You will have the ability to successfully lead the team with a creative, strategic, and operational mindset.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Reporting directly into the Photography Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of overseeing the day-to-day running of your Photographer team.
- This will primarily include product page enrichment of 1000+ products per day.
- Shooting products to a high standard across model and non-model studios.
- You will be expected to shoot across a range of creative projects including but not limited to campaigns and social, using a variation of techniques including mobile.
- Deliver high-quality model direction, ensuring energy, authenticity, and engagement in every shoot.
- Coach and develop the team's ability to bring out expressive, fashion-forward movements that align with the ASOS aesthetic.
- Ensuring creative implementation, budget, cost per product, and volumetric KPIs are adhered to.
- Possess the skill and knowledge to lead a team of Midweight and Junior Photographers monitoring all processes throughout the day.
- Responsible for creation, maintenance, and communication of creative shoot guides from a photography perspective.
- Responsible for ensuring all Photographers are creatively equipped to deliver styling expectations in line with segment.
- Working with the Photography Seniors to develop and implement strategic segment evolution through current trends and fashion relevancy.
- Initiate and lead Photographers pre-planning and preparation for scheduled shoots.
- Oversee all equipment orders and communication with suppliers, ensuring we are adhering to our monthly team budget.
- Own all workshops and train the team in varied creative specialties.
- Forming strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders from Tech to develop photography technologies and oversee all equipment upgrades.
- Championing all aspects of ASOS Studios in every interaction.
- Maintain and track all studio kit, ensuring kit stays in optimal working condition and replacements flagged within a timely manner.
- Direct reporting line of a minimum of 4.
- Monitoring the Photographer team performance KPIs/SLAs and constantly identifying opportunities to improve quality and efficiency.
- Conducting regular 1-2-1s with your direct reports. Reviewing personal objectives, ensuring they are supported and guided, and their skill set is developed, and progression assessed.
- Constantly assess and plan for succession within your team.
- Encouraging team growth and development through objectives and training, ensuring the team are striving to support in the delivery of the department strategy.
- Leading and contributing to team and departmental meetings.
- Be recognised as an aspirational figure within your team and the wider department.
- Guiding the team to follow established processes to deliver agreed creative and quality standards in line with departmental strategy.
- Encouraging the team to be authentic, brave, and creative and to follow all company and departmental strategies.
- Responsible for developing and implementing your leadership style and communication in line with ASOS Behaviours policy.
- Working closely with other Team Leaders and Leads team to successfully deliver the department strategy.
- Build strong, professional, and collaborative relationships with the wider studio team.
- Demonstrating excellent brand awareness by identifying areas for review, researching ideas, and assessing competition to ensure we are market leaders.
- Designing and implementing automated workflow solutions to streamline departmental practices and processes.
- Overseeing departmental technology software and hardware launches.
- Delivering projects to support the department strategy and any other ad-hoc tasks and projects defined by the Lead and Studio Manager.
