Buying is an imperfect science and the Merchandising team are there to aid the difficult decision-making process, whilst ensuring maximum profitability and relevancy for the ASOS customer, globally. Merchandisers are responsible for strategically driving the business through effective planning, range building and trading, working collaboratively with Buying, Supply Chain, Global Commerce and Marketing teams to achieve commercially successful outcomes for the department and wider business. What Youll Be Doing Working to deliver the planned sales and profitability of your department through effective planning and in-season trading Developing short term and long term department strategies with the Buyer to maximise department profit. Driving, adapting and adjusting department strategy in season based on trade performance Regularly analysing department performance to maximise commercial opportunities and manage potential risk Working alongside your Buyer to ensure a commercial range is offered to the customer whilst ensuring both ASOS and the Department strategy are adhered to. Through strategic planning and trading of the department, managing the intake and OTB to deliver the stock requirements of the business Developing and building strong relationships with brands, developing comprehensive trading plans and joint strategies Regularly meeting brands to ensure that key messages and movements in forecast are communicated clearly Providing an appropriate level of data analysis that can be shared to aid decision making and gain buy in for ideas Resolving issues that may arise and working collaboratively with Buying and other relevant teams to come up with effective solutions Reviews KPIs regularly to ensure that the BTA is realistic, highlighting changes to team and management. Seeking opportunities to improve ways of working and systems use to trade more effectively globally, sharing knowledge with the team Managing and developing a high-performing team of AMs and MAs through regular 1:1s, honest and constructive feedback.
