Job Responsibilities
- Support implementation of Fabric and Trims strategy, in line with the Commercial and Technical objectives and leading the team to deliver against key milestones.
- Deliver ASOS fabric management (ACFT) training to empower suppliers on fabric self-approvals to support speed to market and RFT quality.
- Ensure high quality and consistency on a global manufacturing scale by using approved core fabrics for bulk production and managing a bulk-approved core fabric library.
- Deliver fabric training modules across the business and suppliers, and conduct regular meetings with ACFT to discuss monthly testing performance and CAP to ensure right first-time fabrics fit for purpose.
- Re-engineer and develop fabrics through various mills to achieve the best fabric price, together with regional support.
- Deliver newness and innovation of materials, working closely with other Commercial teams.
- Support consolidation of fabric mills regionally and globally.
- Support head of fabric in delivering cost savings through fabric and yarn negotiations, working in close collaboration with the Commercial teams.
- Attend seasonal buying reviews of relevant departments to standardize fabric quality, reduce variance, and improve garment performance.
- Develop new fabric trends and innovations of materials, closely working with the commercial teams.
- Support in mapping mills and raw material work to support Fashion with Integrity goals.
- Utilize a Mill Accreditation system to build partnerships with the best yarn & fabric mills.

- A broad knowledge and experience in fabric sourcing & composite materials in the current competitive marketplace.
- The ability to build strong relationships both internally with senior stakeholders & ASOS teams, as well as externally with suppliers & manufacturers.
- Broad current market-leading knowledge of worldwide fabric & composite materials supply chain including core volume lines & quick response unisex fast fashion.
- Breadth of knowledge across all fabric bases, experienced in sourcing composite materials for fashion.
- Confident presentation and communication skills that are clear, succinct & persuasive.
- A strong understanding of new fabric innovations and development, with an interest in relevant technologies.
- Organizational & analytical skills are essential, as are good time management and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Strong reporting skills using Excel, data management & PowerPoint skills.
