Photographers at ASOS are highly creative, organised and efficient individuals. The photographer works closely with the Stylist, Producer, H&M and model to create industry leading imagery and video content that appeals to our 20 something customer. Leading the shoot and directing the model, the photographer will time manage to achieve target whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality that engage with our customer.
The Details
- Reporting to Senior Photographer, photographers are responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day running of shoots.
- Primarily product page enrichment of 1000+ products per day across the team.
- Shooting products to the highest standard across primarily model shoots and occasionally Non Model shoots.
- Demonstrate creative skill to be able to step on for shoots with an elevated treatment.
- Give clear and concise model direction on set and be accountable for the poses, mood and overall feel of the product shots alongside the Stylists and Producer.
- Ensure the product is fully displayed while maintaining aspirational look and feel.
- Deliver every shoot to agreed start and finish times, meeting your set target and hitting (if not exceeding) creative benchmarks.
- Demonstrating and maintaining a professional presence in and around the business.
- Maintain a professional, organised and productive working environment.
- Supporting the team in following established processes to deliver agreed creative and quality standards in line with departmental strategy.
- Working with the Seniors to support the training and development of new full-timers and freelance.
- Demonstrate a base level understanding of LED lighting, Capture One and Canon camera system with the ability to translate this knowledge on set.
- Demonstrate full understanding of creative changes within the department.
- Be a point of contact for all freelance photographers with regards to Studio set-ups, equipment and shoot guidelines.
- Be innovative regarding lighting and shooting techniques to ensure ASOS imagery is ahead of the competition.
- Conduct seasonal reviews alongside the Senior Photographer regarding background, lighting, pose, mood, look and feel.
- See any changes through to effective completion.
- Keep up to date with the latest industrial photographic equipment and styles ensuring ASOS stays with/ahead of our competitors.
- Work with Studio Management and wider studio team on ad hoc projects to include head shots, competitions and creative briefs.
- Support the model booking team with castings, feeding back on the progress of new models where necessary.
- Be proactive in maintenance of studio kit, ensuring kit stays in optimal working condition and replacements flagged within a timely manner.
- Developing your creative knowledge to keep shoots relevant and aspirational - always up to date on our customers, with a strong overview of fashion, social media and general trends.
- Support Seniors when required with deployment of full time and freelance team resource to optimise the collective team skill set including support of the day to day management in response to absence.
- Engaging in training and development initiatives always projecting the ASOS behaviours policy.
- Working closely with your Seniors, Leads and Management team to successfully deliver the department strategy.
- Build strong, professional and collaborative relationships with the wider studio team.
- Demonstrating excellent brand awareness by identifying areas for review, researching ideas and assessing competition when required to ensure we are market leaders.
- Following the ASOS photography guide to ensure product is shot consistently across all shoot functions.
- Support new workflow solutions to streamline departmental practices and processes.
- Contributing to team and departmental meetings.
- Always championing ASOS ABC's and behaviours, demonstrating excellent brand awareness.
- Delivering projects to support the department strategy and any other ad-hoc tasks defined by Leadership.
- Supporting our culture by championing Diversity, Equity & Inclusion strategies.
