We are looking for a highly organised and proactive
Vehicle Progress Checker to join our PDI team in Plymouth.
This is a key role within the business, responsible for ensuring vehicles move efficiently through the preparation process, from arrival on site to final customer handover.
You will play a vital part in maintaining vehicle flow, coordinating logistics and ensuring every vehicle meets our quality standards before reaching the customer.
Key Responsibilities
- Vehicle Preparation & Tracking
- Monitor vehicles arriving for Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI)
- Track vehicle progress through the workshop system
- Ensure all vehicles meet quality control standards
- Maintain organisation within the PDI compound
- Vehicle Logistics & Movements
- Coordinate vehicle movements across site and to external locations
- Check in deliveries and manage transport logistics
- Arrange ad-hoc vehicle movements when required
- Stock & Key Management
- Maintain accurate vehicle location and stock records
- Manage secure key control systems
- Carry out regular stock checks
- Customer Handover Preparation
- Manage the vehicle handover schedule
- Ensure vehicles are fuelled, prepared and ready on time
- Input and track vehicle preparation details
- Accessories & Presentation
- Coordinate accessory fitting with the parts department
- Ensure showroom and forecourt vehicles are clean and presentable
- Vehicle Condition & Support
- Identify and report any vehicle damage on arrival
- Support compound operations and coordinate drivers when needed
What We're Looking For
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills

- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic IT skills
Experience & Requirements
- Previous experience in a dealership or vehicle preparation role (preferred)
- Knowledge of PDI processes (advantageous)
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
