Vortexa is a fast-growing international technology business founded to solve the immense information gap that exists in the energy industry. By using massive amounts of new satellite data and pioneering work in artificial intelligence, Vortexa creates an unprecedented view on the global seaborne energy flows in real-time, bringing transparency and efficiency to the energy markets and society as a whole.
The Head of Community and Market Engagement owns how Vortexa shows up across our most important markets — through events, experiences, analyst engagement, and media relationships. This role turns market presence into a commercial advantage, supporting pipeline growth while strengthening Vortexa's reputation as a trusted authority across energy, freight, and financial markets. It balances expanding Vortexa's market universe with clear contribution across the commercial funnel, from early engagement through to pipeline influence and deal support. This is a senior, visible role with global scope. It combines strategic leadership with hands-on ownership and sits at the intersection of brand, revenue, and market credibility.
Requirements
What you’ll be responsible for:
- Events & experiences as a commercial channel: Own Vortexa’s global events strategy across flagship conferences, regional events, executive roundtables, and owned experiences. Treat events as a core commercial channel, with clear objectives tied to pipeline influence, senior relationships, and market presence. Ensure events are aligned to GTM priorities, regions, and target audiences. Define success metrics and ROI, with clear internal reporting on outcomes and impact.
- Analyst relations & market visibility: Own the orchestration of analyst-led market content, including special reports, webinars, podcasts, and briefings — ensuring these assets are positioned and amplified in ways that build credibility, support product understanding, contribute to campaigns and commercial goals. Help position Vortexa’s analysts as respected voices in the market, raising expectations of what market leadership looks like. Partner with Growth & Digital to amplify analyst-led work in ways that build authority and credibility, not noise.
- Media & influencer community building: Build and nurture a high-quality media and influencer community across energy, freight, and financial markets. Develop a relationship-led approach to media: curated briefings, intimate events, analyst access, and ongoing engagement. Create a scalable framework for media engagement that starts in Europe and can be replicated by regional leads globally. Ensure media activity supports long-term credibility and commercial objectives, not short-term coverage alone.
- Regional growth & market presence: Lead a world-class regional team across Europe/MENA, Americas, and APAC. Define regional activation frameworks that balance global consistency with local relevance. Partner closely with Product Marketing and Growth to ensure regional programmes support GTM priorities. Ensure Vortexa shows up credibly, consistently, and commercially in every priority market.
- Commercial accountability & internal leadership: Own reporting on event, analyst, media, and regional programme performance, including pipeline influence and strategic impact. Communicate clearly and confidently with the executive team on priorities, outcomes, and recommendations. Act as a senior partner to Growth, Product Marketing, Sales, and internal Analysts — with clear ownership and clean boundaries. Build and lead a high-performing team with strong standards of execution and accountability.
What success looks like:
- Events and experiences are clearly tied to pipeline influence, senior relationships, and market momentum.
- Vortexa is consistently present in the right rooms, conversations, and regions.
- External analysts and media view Vortexa as a credible, valuable market authority.
- Regional teams operate with clarity, consistency, and commercial intent.
- Leadership has clear visibility into impact, ROI, and growth contribution.
What we’re looking for:
- Senior experience leading events, market engagement, or field marketing in a B2B SaaS or data-led business.
- Proven track record of turning events and experiences into commercial outcomes.
- Experience working across regions with senior stakeholders.
- Strong exposure to analyst relations and media engagement.
Skills:
- Commercially minded, with strong judgement on where to invest time and budget.
- Excellent communicator with credibility at executive level.
- Comfortable balancing strategy with hands-on delivery.
- Strong leadership and team-building capability.
Benefits:
- Enjoy flexible hybrid working – split your time between home and our office, with the freedom to work where you’re most productive.
- A vibrant, diverse company pushing ourselves and the technology to deliver beyond the cutting edge.
- A team of motivated characters and top minds striving to be the best at what we do at all times.
- Constantly learning and exploring new tools and technologies.
- Acting as company owners (all Vortexa staff have equity options) – in a business-savvy and responsible way.
- Motivated by being collaborative, working and achieving together.
- Private Health Insurance offered via Vitality to help you look after your physical health.
- Global Volunteering Policy to help you 'do good' and feel better.
