Location: Slough

Salary: Circa £50,000 (depending on experience)

Monday Friday | 10-hour day shifts

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Manager to oversee the safe, efficient, and compliant running of a busy HGV fleet operation. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience managing European haulage operations, with air freight experience being a strong advantage.

About the Ideal Person
  • To have at least 10 years experience of working within a Transport department, involving HGVs.
  • They MUST have experience and knowledge of operating a HGV fleet within Europe.
  • Ideally also have experience within the Air Freight sector.
  • Be able to work alongside 2 other Transport Managers, as part of the overall team, so being a strong team player will be extremely important.
  • The successful candidate MUST have achieved a CPC, and held it for at least 8 years, having also been active on an Operators Licence.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee day-to-day fleet operations
  • Ensure full compliance with DVSA, Operator Licence, and transport regulations
  • Manage vehicle maintenance schedules and fleet documentation
  • Monitor tachograph data, driver compliance, and WTD reports
  • Handle accident investigations and vehicle defect management
  • Support driver recruitment, onboarding, and training
  • Maintain health & safety standards across the operation
  • Identify opportunities to improve fleet efficiency and reduce costs
What We’re Looking For:
  • Minimum 10 years transport experience working with HGV fleets
  • Strong knowledge of European haulage operations
  • Air freight experience (desirable)
  • Must hold a valid CPC qualification for at least 8 years
  • Previous experience operating on an Operators Licence
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
