Vortex Recruitment is currently seeking experienced HGV Class 2 Tanker Drivers to join our client's growing operation. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and safety-conscious driver with experience operating tanker vehicles and working in compliance with DVSA, HSE, and waste management regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 26-tonne tanker vehicle in accordance with DVSA and HSE regulations.
- Remove waste from customer sites and transport it for disposal in line with EWC regulations.
- Deliver non-potable water to customer locations.
- Empty effluent tanks, portable toilets, and welfare units, ensuring they are cleaned, chemically treated, and restocked as required.
- Complete daily vehicle inspections and maintain the roadworthiness of the tanker.
- Operate pumps, hoses, and associated tanker equipment, reporting any defects and carrying out minor repairs where appropriate.
- Complete waste transfer documentation accurately and maintain all required records.
- Use digital tachograph equipment in accordance with current legislation.
- Utilise the BigChange tablet system to record job information, verification photographs, and customer sign-off.
- Work closely with the operations team to ensure efficient route planning and service delivery.
- Adhere to customer and company Health & Safety procedures at all times.
- Attend event sites, weekend work, bank holidays, nights out, and overtime when required by the business.
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence.
- Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Good understanding of DVSA regulations and driver compliance.
- Previous tanker, waste management, drainage, or environmental services experience preferred.
- Strong awareness of Health & Safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently and manage daily workloads effectively.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Flexible approach to working hours and locations.

- Vehicle and equipment maintained in a clean and serviceable condition.
