Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, rollers, skid steers, articulated trucks, and other machinery as assigned.
- Perform excavation, grading, trenching, material movement, site preparation, and other earthwork activities.
- Conduct pre-operational and post-operational inspections of equipment.
- Identify, document, and report equipment malfunctions, maintenance needs, and safety concerns.
- Read and interpret site plans, grade stakes, blueprints, and project specifications.
- Work closely with supervisors, laborers, truck drivers, and other crew members to ensure efficient project completion.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance, including fueling, lubricating, and cleaning equipment.
- Follow all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and site-specific safety requirements.
Qualifications
- Ability to safely operate multiple types of heavy construction equipment.
- Working knowledge of equipment safety standards and operating procedures.
- Valid driver's license required; Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of 3- 5 years of heavy equipment operating experience.
Skills & Competencies
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and reach for extended periods.
- Ability to operate equipment controls using hands and feet.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
- Ability to tolerate exposure to dust, noise, vibration, and uneven terrain.
