About the Role
Our Graduate Engineers play an important role in supporting the successful delivery of projects by assisting with planning, design, technical reporting, site supervision, and project coordination. You will have the opportunity to develop skills in:
- Civil engineering and infrastructure projects
- Water and wastewater network construction
- Utility installation and maintenance works
- Site engineering and surveying
- Project planning and programming
- Health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance
- Technical reporting and documentation
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the planning, coordination, and delivery of engineering projects.
- Support site teams with setting out, surveying, and quality control activities.
- Prepare technical reports, project documentation, and progress updates.
- Assist with project cost monitoring and programme tracking.
- Conduct site inspections and ensure works are completed in accordance with specifications and safety requirements.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients.
- Support the preparation of risk assessments, method statements, and project documentation.
- Assist with design reviews, calculations, and engineering assessments where required.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company procedures, and health and safety standards.
- Participate in site visits and gain practical experience of construction and utility operations.
Qualifications
- Degree (BEng, MEng, or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Relevant placement, internship, or industry experience.
- Knowledge of utility, water, wastewater, or civil engineering projects.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or engineering design software.
- Understanding of construction health and safety requirements.
- Interest in pursuing professional qualifications and long‑term career development within the engineering sector.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
