We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated graduates to work as Graduate Teaching Assistants across a range of welcoming primary schools throughout Cambridge. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates who are considering a future career in teaching and would like to gain valuable classroom experience.
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support pupils' learning, provide targeted support to individuals or small groups, and help create a positive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support teachers with classroom activities and lesson delivery
- Work with small groups or individual pupils to reinforce learning
- Provide additional support to pupils who may need help with literacy, numeracy, or behaviour
- Assist in preparing classroom resources and maintaining an organised learning environment
- Encourage pupil confidence, participation, and engagement in lessons
- Support pupils with special educational needs (SEN) where required
Requirements
- A university degree (any subject)
- A strong interest in education and working with young people
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive, positive, and supportive attitude
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential
