Role description: Manager

Responsibilities

• Support the Advocacy team and help deliver a high-quality advocacy service across the North East, including non-statutory and statutory roles under the Mental Health Act, the Mental Capacity Act, the Care Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLS) legislation.
• Line-manage a team of advocates; provide support, develop the team and manage performance.
• Work with the Head of Advocacy to review, maintain and improve the quality of advocacy services; analyse data and produce reports.
• Ensure effective and timely allocation of referrals and act as a point of contact for queries about advocacy services.
• Manage your own caseload of advocacy referrals; meet with clients, professionals and other stakeholders to ascertain and represent the client’s wishes, views and beliefs.
• Travel to locations such as clients’ homes, hospitals, care homes and community settings; some work from home for administrative tasks.
• Access to your own transport and a reliable home internet connection are essential.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Experience in supporting teams within a health and social care context; either as a manager moving into advocacy or an experienced advocate moving into management.
• Ability to develop skills and experience to deliver high-quality advocacy services.
