Who are we and what are we looking for?

The BAY Foodbank is one of the largest independent foodbanks in the country and the only foodbank serving the entirety of North Tyneside. We provide emergency parcels to those experiencing crisis, and last year our staff and volunteers helped us to provide 8713 parcels, feeding 15,544 people. Demand for our services has never been higher and with ongoing economic challenges this situation shows no sign of changing.

So that we can continue to fulfil our ambition to support the local community we aim to appoint a CEO with the skills to lead the charity into its next chapter of growth and impact. The incoming CEO will have the opportunity to build on the BAY Foodbank’s strong foundation, driving strategic development, enhancing visibility, and fostering inclusive and collaborative partnerships with donors, stakeholders, the Government and local authorities.

With a commitment to innovation and growth, the CEO will lead the implementation of the BAY Foodbank’s business strategy, ensuring the charity continues to thrive and adapt to the needs of the community. They will ensure that donation collection, warehousing, delivery, work with clients, lobbying local and central government for change all work together to achieve our common aim.

The Chief Executive Officer reports directly to the organisations Board of Trustees and is managed by the Chair of Trustees. The main purposes of the role are to lead and manage the organisation, promote the charity, ensure the foodbank clearly understands the needs of the local community and to oversee fundraising and income generation.
