Are you an experienced HGV Technician ready to take the next step in your career? Volvo Truck & Bus is looking for a Technician Supervisor to join our Glasgow East team. This is an excellent opportunity to combine your technical expertise with leadership responsibilities in a world-class service environment.
As Technician Supervisor, you’ll lead our team of HGV technicians, ensuring all work is carried out efficiently, safely, and to Volvo’s high standards. You’ll act as a hands-on leader, supporting technicians on the shop floor while coordinating workloads, maintaining quality control, and liaising with the Service Manager to meet operational targets.
Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and support a team of skilled technicians.
- Oversee day-to-day workshop operations, ensuring productivity, efficiency, and quality standards are consistently met.
- Carry out diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on Volvo trucks and buses when required.
- Ensure health & safety and compliance standards are maintained across the workshop.
- Provide training, mentoring, and guidance to develop the team’s skills and performance.
- Supervise a team of technicians to create high morale and ensure timely, quality work.
- Manage customer expectations by working with each stage of the Genuine Volvo Service process.
- Maximise shifts performance through effective problem solving, coaching & development.
- Communicate effectively with the Day Shift Supervisor, CSR’s and Parts department to ensure technicians have valid job specifications and time budgets before work commences.
Who are you?
- Experience as a Supervisor or Team Leader in HGV maintenance.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team of technicians in daily duties.
- Capability to coach and provide support and guidance to your team.
- Effective communication at all levels, both written and verbal.
- Ability to prioritise tasks, manage workflow and meet deadlines in a busy workshop.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft and IT skills.
